Jaguar Type 01 Car Unveiled – 724 Km Range, 1,016 HP

After lot of spyshots and controversies Jaguar has finally taken the wraps off from the Jaguar Type 01 electric car. The company plans to target New York customers first and after that the car will make its way into the UK market. Price of the car starts at $130,000 which means that Jaguar is not targeting regular customers with Type 01 electric car.

So what the car gets? Well first thing to note here that the car is more than 5.2-metres long and 2-metres wide. So handling it gonna be tough and it is certainly built for wide American roads. The car is powered by three electric motors – one on front and two on rear axle. These three motors put out 1,016 HP and 1,365 Nm making it the most powerful car from Jaguar. The Type 01 can go from 0 to 96 km/h in about 3.5 seconds and Jaguar claims to have a 50:50 weight distribution.

It is built on Jaguar’s new 850-Volt architecture and comes with an 118-kWh battery pack. Maximum WLTP range of the car is 450 miles / 724 Km. The length of Type 01 car stands at 206.4-inches and height is 55.24-inches. For smooth driving experience double-wishbone front suspension and integral-link rear suspension is on offer which comes with dynamic air suspension that sends 87% of power to rear axle. Five different power modes on Type 01 car are – Jaguar, Ice & Snow, Curated, Dynamic and Efficient.

Exterior of Type 01 car gets LED projector lights with auto-levelling. Both LED headlight contains 20,000 LEDs for remarkable bright illumination. Type 01 rides on 23-inch wheels but customers will have option to go for 21-inch wheels as well.

On the inside the car gets minimalist design language with large 24-inch OLED screen and 7-inch vertical touchscreen controls. One thing to note here is the car lacks rear view mirror. Jaguar has offered ClearSight rear view display instead which is embedded at the base of windshield. All four seats in Type 01 gets heating and cooling function and front seats get 12-way adjustable feature.
